Doi Mae Salong – Chiang Rai – Nan

Via Highway 107 to Chiang Dao, visit the caves and have morning coffee. Trravel past Fang, up to Doi Mae Salong and stay overnight at a resort or guesthouse. Around the mountains to Doi Tung, decend to Mae Sai for lunch. Down Highway 1 to Chiang Rai for an overnight break. Next day to Chiang Kham, and onto the start of 1148, the ultimate motorcycling road in Thailand. Overnight in Nan. The following day, return to Chiang Mai via Lampang.

Chiang Rai

Ride out Highway 118 to Mae Kachan, swing right onto Highway 120 and enjoy crossing the mountains to Phayao for lunch. Ride up Highway 1 to Chiang Rai and spend the night.

Return via 118 to Mae Suai, turn right onto Highway 109 and out to Fang. Back to Chiang Mai via Chiang Dao.
