A couple of months ago we showed you the spy photos of a new Ducati Panigale V4 R Superleggera, a model that was logical because Ducayi has been offering these so sophisticated and exclusive versions of its Panigale supercars.
In the photos we saw that the new V4 R Superleggera had carbon bodywork and rims, as well as the Öhlins suspensions front and rear (it seems that the TTX 36 shock absorber and the NPX fork, as well as a new Akrapovic exhaust in titanium.
As in the Panigale 1299 Superleggera, it is to be expected that both the subframe and the minimum chassis that holds the pipe will be carbon. All this, especially the carbon rims, which reduce unsprung masses and gyroscopic effect, should clearly increase agility.
The Superleggera has an advantage over the standard R: it doesn’t have to cost less than € 40,000, the maximum figure that a motorcycle homologated to run in the WSBK can be worth (Although the gossips say that the R is actually worth more than the € 39,900 it costs).
BikeSocial has discovered the homologation patent for the new hypercar, of which the power stands out, 224 hp (3 CV more than the standard R) and the weight, 173 kg.
Before anyone is scared by this last figure and says that the standard R weighs 172 kg dry, we will say that the weight to be homologated is the ‘minimum essential to shoot’i.e. with battery, oil, coolant, etc. It is easier to compare the curb weight of the V4 R declared, of 193 kg, in front of 184 kg of the Superleggera, that is 9 kg less: this means that when dry it should weigh 163 kg.
The Superleggera’s measurement figures are slightly higher than the standard V4 R. It is a few millimeters longer, wider and taller, with a longer wheelbase compared to the Panigale V4 R. That it is wider may mean that the ailerons are larger, and higher, that the screen is slightly higher. high, like on SBK’s bike.
As with the other Superleggeras, the V4 is expected to be delivered together with a complete circuit control unit and exhaust kit – not homologated for the street, with which power will approach 240 hp… More than some bikes from the SBK World Championship.
The price should move in the range of 85,000-90,000 €, approximately, since the 1299 Superleggera cost € 80,000. And yes, the 500 units manufactured were all sold.
