If your little sister, the CMX500 is compatible with the A2 card, the new CMX1100 is intended for more experienced users looking for greater sensations. We are facing a motorcycle with more character, more performance and the latest Honda technology, although without renouncing the carefree and transgressive character of the half-liter Rebel.
Without a doubt we are facing a different motorcycle, which despite riding a 1,084cc twin-cylinder engine derived from the CRF1100L Africa Twin, with a power of 64 kW (87 hp) and a couple of 98 Nm, it is still an agile and accessible motorcycle with a seat just 700 mm from the ground, which greatly facilitates its maneuverability. Honda promises “a formidable low-speed drive and a formidable mid-range punch”, but what we are sure of is that it will enjoy that characteristic smoothness that Honda gives to each of its motorcycles.
We do not miss the electronics because it comes equipped with an electronic throttle Throttle By Wire (TBW) that allows 3 default driving modes plus a fourth customizable “User” option; 3 levels of Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC); Anti-wheelie control; Cruise control; and the option of the exclusive Honda Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) for a six-speed gearbox on which the bike intelligently decides for us.
It fits wide tires, with small steel fenders, combining the classic with the modern, as with its circular headlight with LED lighting or the instrument panel with LCD screen. To give it more personality, the rear seat pad can be removed quickly and easily.
Although Honda has not yet confirmed its price we do know that will make its appearance on the Spanish market in the first of 2021, and that lovers of authentic motorcycles, but with cutting-edge technology, will be waiting for you with open arms.
