The KTM 1290 GT 2021 has been hunted by the German Motorrad.de in the vicinity of the Idiada complex. This speed ring and technology center in Tarragona is the base where ex-World Cup driver Jeremy McWilliams fine-tunes the cycle part of the new Austrian models.
The spy photos reveal that the new sports GT mounts the chassis of the latest Super Duke R, in this case painted in a discreet black color and not orange. The subframe is of new invoice, with a multitubular structure. The single-sided swingarm is still maintained.
The engine must be that of the last Super Duke R, with the new exhaust system, which has new manifolds and a shorter silencer than the previous one. From him we expect the same 180 CV of the SD.
Aesthetically it seems to mount the same fibers of the previous GT, and in addition to the subframe and exhaust, it only seems to differ externally by the rims, the same as those of the Super Duke R 2020. Another change that is appreciated is a new radiator, a lot bigger than in the previous version.
We also expect a revised electronics, and a new TFT instrumentation that could be that of the hypernaked.
The 2021 KTM 1290 GT looks like a finished bike ready for series production, although we don’t expect it before spring 2021.
